Busy Spring!

Well this past week I have been very busy!  First Baptist preschool for two days, Gotta Dance for two days, and two days of soccer!  Now I am in the middle of bunny pictures!  I had a great group of kids from First Baptist last week.  They were well behaved and we got some great shots.  Gotta Dance is always fun with all the little tappers!  If April's studio continues to grow, we may have to go to three days!  I am happy to say that the weather this year was great for soccer pictures at Barnett Park.  This is the first year in a long time that we didn't have at least one rain day.  Now to find the time to get everything printed!

I have three adorable bunnies this year and some may recognize one as last year's bunny.  He's back and actually has a baby son that looks just like him.  Unfortunately, the baby doesn't like to sit still
( kind of like some of the kids)!

I will be blogging soon about the fashion show I will be putting on with Relay for Life for high school students in April!  Stay tuned!

Back from Disney!

Well I've been slack this week about blogging because my daughter and I were at Disney World.  It was a lot of fun seeing all the Disney characters that I will be using in this year's Storybook Collection.  We met the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland and we couldn't go to Disney without ridding the tea cups!  It really is a small world when I saw people I knew from Kinston there!  It was a great bonding time with my daughter, sister in law and niece.  I have come back inspired for the rest of this year's Storybook themes and ready to get started!

March Storybook: Alice in Wonderland

Photo: Behind the scenes of Alice in Wonderland. Charlie wanted to be the Cheshire Cat!
March Storybook will be Alice in Wonderland.  It will be held March 15 & 16th with a live bunny!  We will have a Mad Hatter's tea party and even play croquet with flamingos.  I have done Alice before, but this year I have added the Mad Hatter.  I had a lot of fun creating his costume. I had two cute boys who modeled the Mad Hatter for me and one adorable little girl.  The Cheshire cat even showed up!  Of course he was mainly interested in the white rabbit!  The set is magical and it would be a shame to miss this the third in my Disney series.  You can join the Storybook Club at any time or just participate in this one session.  The Storybook Club is $120 registration fee which pays your sessions for 5 sessions in which you have a year to complete.  Being a Storybook Club member, you also get a sheet of wallets with each session which is a $160 value.  This club is ideal for children ages 2-7.  Don't miss out on all the fun!

Greatest "Cutest Pet Contest" EVER!!!!

All I can say is WOW!!  The cutest pet contest is over and we raised $2400 for the Lenoir County SPCA!  That was phenomenal!  Thank you so much for your support for this event.  The shelter was in real need for this and it is because of your votes that it was possible.  This was the first time ever for me in hosting an event like this and I am overwhelmed with the response.
I will do an event like this every year with my Pet Days that runs in January.  I have had Pet Days for five years now to help collect food for the SPCA.  It has always done well but this year was the best!  I want to thank  Pet Sense, The Dog House, The Animal Shelter, Pet Supplies Plus, and The Village Steakhouse for their wonderful donations.  Without your contributions, the contest would not have been possible.

I would like to express my condolences to Kris for the loss of Bobbythis week.  He was a very special cat and one of the sweetest cats that I ever photographed.

There was something in the water!

There must have been something in the water about 12 months ago, because I have had a lot of 3 month babies lately!  These babies are all a part of my "Watch Me Grow Club".  Some just joined and some have been a part of our family since they were newborns.  I have several different sessions available for babies.  I have a "Transition Session" which is a pair of sessions: one to capture the end of the pregnancy and one to celebrate the newborn.  The "Newborn Session" is a single session to document every detail of the newborn.  The "Basic Bay Session" is three sessions newborn, sitting up (6-8 months) and one year.  I also have the "Ultimate Baby Collection" which is a collection of five sessions throughout baby's first year.  Each session also includes a framed art piece.

Eagle Scout Ceremony

On February 3, I had the honor of photographing the Eagle Court of Honor for Gordan Street Christian Church Troop 41.  Two brothers were awarded their Eagle Scout pin.  Both boys are also members of the Order of the Arrow.  The ceremony was held during the church service and a reception was held afterwards.

Both boys came to the studio for their portraits before the ceremony, where I was able to create a special composite for each. I offer a free session and free 8x10 to any boy who has earned his Eagle.  I can also create custom announcement cards.

It is always a pleasure to work with Troop 41.

Hazlee

Meet Hazlee!
This is the adorable newborn I photographed last week.  She was cute as a button and had a great big brother that came to help!  She didn't want to go to sleep at first, but she finally surrendered to the sandman.  She is a member of my Watch Me Grow Club that will document the stages of her first year.  This is a great way to remember those cute hands and feet that you so often forget as the baby gets older.
